Description

Mobeye CM-Guard-40 CM4040

The Mobeye CM-Guard-40 CM4040 is an alarm module with four potential-free inputs. When one of the inputs is activated, alarm messages are sent via the integrated communication module. If connected to an external power source, the device also monitors the power supply and sends a notification in case of a power failure. The CM4040 can operate on batteries for an extended period, ensuring continuous monitoring of the inputs.

Four-Channel Alarm Detector for Monitoring Technical Systems

The Mobeye CM4040 features four NO/NC inputs designed for monitoring sensors and signals. In the event of an alarm, the configured contacts are notified via app, phone call, SMS, or email. Each input can be assigned a specific alarm message, providing immediate clarity about the nature of the issue.

For applications requiring only two inputs, the Mobeye CM4000 offers a suitable alternative. The Mobeye CM4040, however, is a more advanced model with four channels, enabling the monitoring of additional signals using a single device. In addition to its four inputs, the Mobeye  CM4042 is equipped with two bistable relay outputs, providing enhanced functionality for device control.

External Voltage vs Battery-Powered Operation for the Mobeye CM4040

The CM4040 operates either fully on battery power or using a 12-24V DC power source. It is compatible with any potential-free sensor, offering versatility for a wide range of applications. With various customisation options, including alarm message texts per input, alarm delays, recovery messages with input-specific text, repeat notifications, and test messages, the CM-Guard-40 can be tailored to meet specific requirements.

In the event of an alarm, the Mobeye CM4040 sends notifications via app (iOS/Android), voice call, text message, and/or email. For push notifications, users can choose between an escalation plan or a group message. With the escalation plan, the first recipient to confirm the push notification stops the alert from being sent to others. If no recipient confirms, a phone call is made. There is no limit to the number of contacts that can be added.

Power failure alarm

When connected to an external power source, the Mobeye CM4040 monitors the presence of the power supply and sends notifications via push message, voice call, SMS, and/or email in the event of a power failure. A regulated 12-24V DC power source or a mains adapter can be connected to the voltage input. If the power supply is interrupted, the internal batteries take over, ensuring continued operation, and a notification is sent to alert users. The input contacts and connected sensors remain monitored during the power loss. Once the power is restored, a recovery notification is sent.

Using the Mobeye SIM card enables full functionality, including access to the Mobeye Internet Portal and app (€5 excl. VAT per month). Communication occurs over the 4G LTE-M network, with 2G as a fallback. When using your own SIM card, the device primarily operates on 2G and can also use 4G LTE-M with correct APN settings. In this case, alarm notifications are sent via SMS and, if supported, voice calls to up to five phone numbers.

How it Works

IEX CM4040

  1. Confirm potential-free sensors or contacts on the inputs and, if present, connect an external power supply.
  2. Use the Mobeye Portal to configure the inputs as “normally open” or “normally closed”, with optional delay times, recovery messages, and customised alarm texts.
  3. When one of the four inputs enters an alarm state, the device sends an alarm notification to the contacts via app, call, SMS, and/or email. For app notifications, an escalation plan and message confirmation are possible.

Typical Applications for the CM4040

  • Monitoring of NO/NC contacts
  • Machine monitoring
  • Sensor monitoring
  • Measurement and control technology

Note: The CM4040 comes with an indoor housing (IP44). For outdoor use, the Mobeye CM4040X features an IP66-rated housing for enhanced weather resistance. Contact us for more information about the CM4040X.

  • Own SIM card
When using your own SIM card, the device operates on 2G; with an LTE-M SIM card and the correct APN settings, it alsosupports 4G. The device runs “stand-alone”, without using the Mobeye Portal. The alarm notifications are sent via SMS and (if supported by the network) telephone call to (max.) 5 contacts. Programming is done via (simple) SMS commands

Accessories (not included)

Mobeye SIM, Portal & App service

The Mobeye Internet Portal offers a clear dashboard and essential functions, such as push notifications per app, online programming, setting up the notifications, insight into the status and history, network strength, events and position (Cell-Id). The ‘keep-alive’ monitor offers extra security by monitoring the receipt of test messages. You can activate the supplied Mobeye SIM card online.

SIM, Portal & App

All Mobeye monitoring devices require a SIM card for communication. The product comes with a budget-friendly SIM card, which provides direct access to the Mobeye Internet portal. Using your own SIM card limits certain functionalities.

SIM
The Mobeye M2M SIM card provides the device with full functionality, allowing access to the Mobeye Internet Portal and App.

With the Mobeye SIM card, communication occurs over the 4G LTE-M network with 2G as a fallback. When you insert your own SIM card, the device utilises the 2G network. Alarm messages are then transmitted via SMS and/or call to a maximum of 5 telephone numbers.

The Mobeye SIM card is PIN-protected and exclusively functions in a Mobeye device. Please refrain from inserting it into another device. For further information about the Mobeye SIM card, visit: mobeye.com/en/sim-cards. The rate for utilising the Mobeye Internet Portal and the SIM card can be found at mobeye.com/en/sim-portal.

Free App for your Smartphone
The Mobeye Messages app is available for download from the Google Play (Android) and Apple App Stores (iOS).
