Description
Mobeye CM-Guard-40 CM4040
The Mobeye CM-Guard-40 CM4040 is an alarm module with four potential-free inputs. When one of the inputs is activated, alarm messages are sent via the integrated communication module. If connected to an external power source, the device also monitors the power supply and sends a notification in case of a power failure. The CM4040 can operate on batteries for an extended period, ensuring continuous monitoring of the inputs.
Four-Channel Alarm Detector for Monitoring Technical Systems
The Mobeye CM4040 features four NO/NC inputs designed for monitoring sensors and signals. In the event of an alarm, the configured contacts are notified via app, phone call, SMS, or email. Each input can be assigned a specific alarm message, providing immediate clarity about the nature of the issue.
For applications requiring only two inputs, the Mobeye CM4000 offers a suitable alternative. The Mobeye CM4040, however, is a more advanced model with four channels, enabling the monitoring of additional signals using a single device. In addition to its four inputs, the Mobeye CM4042 is equipped with two bistable relay outputs, providing enhanced functionality for device control.
External Voltage vs Battery-Powered Operation for the Mobeye CM4040
The CM4040 operates either fully on battery power or using a 12-24V DC power source. It is compatible with any potential-free sensor, offering versatility for a wide range of applications. With various customisation options, including alarm message texts per input, alarm delays, recovery messages with input-specific text, repeat notifications, and test messages, the CM-Guard-40 can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
In the event of an alarm, the Mobeye CM4040 sends notifications via app (iOS/Android), voice call, text message, and/or email. For push notifications, users can choose between an escalation plan or a group message. With the escalation plan, the first recipient to confirm the push notification stops the alert from being sent to others. If no recipient confirms, a phone call is made. There is no limit to the number of contacts that can be added.
Power failure alarm
When connected to an external power source, the Mobeye CM4040 monitors the presence of the power supply and sends notifications via push message, voice call, SMS, and/or email in the event of a power failure. A regulated 12-24V DC power source or a mains adapter can be connected to the voltage input. If the power supply is interrupted, the internal batteries take over, ensuring continued operation, and a notification is sent to alert users. The input contacts and connected sensors remain monitored during the power loss. Once the power is restored, a recovery notification is sent.
Using the Mobeye SIM card enables full functionality, including access to the Mobeye Internet Portal and app (€5 excl. VAT per month). Communication occurs over the 4G LTE-M network, with 2G as a fallback. When using your own SIM card, the device primarily operates on 2G and can also use 4G LTE-M with correct APN settings. In this case, alarm notifications are sent via SMS and, if supported, voice calls to up to five phone numbers.
How it Works
- Confirm potential-free sensors or contacts on the inputs and, if present, connect an external power supply.
- Use the Mobeye Portal to configure the inputs as “normally open” or “normally closed”, with optional delay times, recovery messages, and customised alarm texts.
- When one of the four inputs enters an alarm state, the device sends an alarm notification to the contacts via app, call, SMS, and/or email. For app notifications, an escalation plan and message confirmation are possible.
